Multidisciplinary Designer Specializing in Interaction, UX, and Creative Direction
I’m Jasmine, but everyone calls me Jaz. I’m a Brooklyn-based multidisciplinary designer with more than 18 years of experience spanning interactive design, UX and UI, branding, social media, package design, and creative direction.
My work blends storytelling with digital craft, and I love building experiences that help people learn, explore, and feel inspired.
I’ve created design work for Random House, PBS Kids, Ruckus Media Group/Ruckus Learning, Goalsetter, and I spent six unforgettable years at NickJr.com, and during that time our team earned an Emmy Award for the Nick App. My background bridges agency work, social-first campaigns, physical products, and long-term digital products, giving me a perspective that’s both conceptual and systems-driven.
Highlights include the redesign of StoryCorps, the complete visual overhaul of Good Food Jobs, and the full redesign of Union Savings Bank. These projects were created in collaboration with the digital agency Webinhabit, where I’ve worked on experiences across culture, education, food, and finance.
I’m currently a Lead Interactive Designer at Curriculum Associates on the i-Ready Reading team. I design student-centered interactive activities, create visual and UX systems for young readers, and help expand our approach to accessibility through features like keyboard navigation and screen reader support, which serves 14 million students and teachers across the United States. I also collaborated on print design for Grades 3 and 5 across the Magnetic Reading program.
Beyond the digital world, I’m fueled by travel, fashion, cooking, photography, and my lifelong love of paper art. Early in my career at NickJr.com, I worked as a paper engineer alongside my interactive design work, creating tangible prototypes and dimensional pieces that shaped the worlds we built on screen. That hands-on curiosity eventually inspired me to launch Strictlypaper, a platform I founded in 2010 to celebrate the incredible artists pushing the boundaries of paper through fashion, animation, architecture, collage, sculpture, and more. Strictlypaper became a global source of inspiration, connecting paper artists and enthusiasts from around the world, and it continues to live on through @strictlypaperart on Instagram.
At the heart of everything I create sits curiosity, joy, and the thrill of turning ideas into something people can feel. Whether I’m designing an app for students or celebrating the magic of a single sheet of paper, I’m always exploring new ways to bring creativity to life.
